Chesil Beach

Chesil Beach is a stunning view you must see when holidaying here in Chideock, West Dorset. Chesil Beach stretches 18 miles north west from Portland to West Bay. It is a pebble beach and the pebbles are the size of your fist in Portland and the size of a pea at West Bay.
There are fabulous views of Chesil Beach from the coast road from Bridport to Abbotsbury and from the top of Portland. The photo I have added to this blog was taken at the top of the Magnolia Walk in the beautiful Abbotsbury Sub Tropical Gardens.
Chesil beach is a fabulous place to walk, fish, water sports and bird watching.
The Fleet Lagoon which separates the mainland from Chesil Beach is an area of salty water which provides perfect conditions for many species of wildlife.
We can’t resist lunch at the Taste Cafe @ Chesil Beach which sits on the beach between Weymouth and Portland. Their Fish Platters are simply the best!
